Marney is a writer and chaplain. Her writing has appeared or is forthcoming in ​Colorado Review, Kenyon Review, The Harvard Advocate, West Branch, ITERANT, Best Spiritual Literature, ​and elsewhere. She currently serves as the interfaith chaplain to Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. Marney has a BA in Africana Studies from Smith College, an MFA from New York University, and an MDiv from Harvard. She grew up on Cape Cod and lives there now with her wife and two cats on land long loved and cared for by the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe.
